This position involves heading a team in the Electrification Smart Power, ensuring continuous and efficient production operations in line with plans, procedures, and quality and safety standards and policies. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient and cost-effective production results that meet order demand, specifications, quality, and planning targets through the coordination and management of plant equipment, personnel, and production processes (quantity, quality, budgeted costs, and proper productivity level) within a high-volume fast paced manufacturing environment.

Your responsibilities

  • Executes per the annual production budget, oversees progress, and determines actions to cost issues as necessary in order to manage operations within the budget and resources
  • Develops programs, projects, goals, and metrics to lead the organization to the highest level of operational performance while optimizing working capital throughout Operations
  • Develops and executes plans to reduce non-value-added costs, increase revenues, and service customers by delivering products on time with high factory and supplier yields and decreasing product field failure rates
  • Ensures operator training and continuous improvement methods are implemented in the organization
  • Accountable for the production results of manufacturing work centers
  • Provides support to the cross functional plant teams, as required, during implementations to explain the capabilities of the manufacturing facilities
  • Collaborates with Operational Excellence teams to integrate lean manufacturing principles into production processes
Your background

  • Bachelor degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred plus 5 years experience OR Associate degree plus 7 years experience OR HS diploma/GED plus 9 years experience
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing/production experience
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Budget & Performance Management, Quality Assurance & Excellence, Logistics, Planned Maintenance & Backlog Management, Resource Management & Capacity Planning, Specialist Technical & Engineering Skills, L6S Tools and Methodologies and Microsoft Excel
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
