Position Title: CNC Setup Operator A

Department #/Name: 5DD6/Machining

Reports To: Value Stream Manager

Position Summary:

Assure that all machines within assigned manufacturing cell are properly set up to perform enquired operations involving all levels of complexity/difficulty. Operate machines as required, and instruct, assist and participate in the work of assigned team.

Scope/Supervision & Interaction -

Essential Functions:

* Operate CNC machines, lathes machines, milling machines, boring machines, and tool grinding equipment.

* Write and execute programs for CNC machines.

* Determine work procedures from drawings, sketches, schedules, and blueprints.

* Repair and make parts.

* Refine design fixtures.

* Assist in prototype development.

* Assure that all parts produced meet Engineering requirements by measuring, inspecting, using SPC and making adjustments, seeking assistance for variables beyond own control.

* Follow SOP required within work cell.

* Understand ISO procedures and know where appropriate documentation is kept.

Qualifications:

* 3 - 5 years experience

* Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as complex gauges and micrometers.

* Ability to use complex shop math, work from Engineering drawings, specifications, charts and tables.

* Ability to read, write, and speak English in order to interpret written materials and maintain appropriate records.

* Lifting up to 35 lbs.
