As a Material Planner, you will be responsible for end-to-end planning of inventory including sales in excess of invoicing from purchase requisition to customer invoice. Support internal customer service inquiries. You will set inventory parameters, inventory targets, and ensure adequate replenishment of inventory through purchase orders.

Your responsibilities

  • Segment the portfolio of materials through an ABC/XYZ analysis, product lifecycle management and commercial policy
  • Define inventory policies according to this segmentation
  • Calculate and maintain in the planning systems and the ERPs inventory parameters such as safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead-time and replenishment strategies
  • Collaborate with Buyers for obtaining the best possible supplier performance in terms of supplier on-time delivery, MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity), quality, lead-time and flexibility
  • Work with Operations Buyers and GBS to align planning of material with call offs and ensure that purchase requisitions are converted into purchase orders
  • Manage MRP (Materials Resource Planning) exception messages daily. Support cycle counting and/or year-end inventory counting
  • Conduct financial risk assessments decisions relating to inventory, conduct root case analysis (RCA) when necessary
  • Analyze excess and obsolete/aging inventory
  • Take appropriate action for optimizing inventory performance in collaboration with sales, marketing, manufacturing and Procurement and Logistics
Your background

  • Bachelor degree with 0-2 years of experience in materials planning, sourcing and / or logistics
  • Knowledgeable of integrated ERP systems specifically SAP
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, ability to achieve results with minimal supervision
  • Strong time management and organization skills, ability to work in multi-task environment
  • Demonstrated communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Six Sigma Belt certification preferred
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in United States
