Georgia-Pacific is seeking an experienced IT/OT Network Engineer who, under minimal supervision, will work assist local IT teams in developing standard network management work processes, troubleshoot network issues, and manage projects aimed at improving plan automation. A successful candidate will partner with Enterprise Support teams and Process Control capabilities to improve mill operations.

The role includes the following:

  • Develop and Implement projects that support the overall IT/OT vision
  • Implement and Support the 5-year technical roadmap
  • Partner with corporate network architects to implement standards and reliable communication systems.
  • Partner with Cyber security teams to secure Industrial Control Systems and enable the connected manufacturing enterprise of the future (Industry 4.0)
  • Partner with Process Control and Engineering capabilities to deliver communication networks that are optimized for reliable automation
  • Ability to investigate, analyze, and correct complex network issues
  • Experience with/or demonstrated aptitude to be trained on Industrial control systems (DCS/PLC)

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Strong networking technology knowledge (TCP/IP, routing, or switching).
  • Experience working with firewalls and wireless communication technology.
  • Experience working on VMWare, Active Directory, DNS, and Domain Controllers
  • Willing to travel 10% to support nearby facilities.
  • Ability to participate in an after-hours support rotation.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds, work in various manufacturing mill environments, climbing stairs.


What Will Put You Ahead

  • OT experience, with exposure to manufacturing facilities
  • Knowledge /w OSIpi, Kepware, or other industrial communications software
  • Knowledge of PLC/SCADA and/or DCS network architecture
  • Experience with IIoT and edge computing
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field
  • Knowledge of Cyber security best practices
