In this position, you will establish and maintain a quality culture in Motion NEMA Motors, controlling quality with systems, tools and teams to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations. You will be responsible to deploy and support a Quality Culture within local ABB, by assuring and controlling Quality with systems, tools and teams to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations. This role supports and maintains the Quality Management System of the local unit. All aspects managed in line with ABB Group/Division/BU guidance.

This position reports to

Manufacturing Unit Manager

Your responsibilities

  • Represents the Voice of the Customer within local teams
  • Manages the customer quality issues, perform root cause analysis and lead the implementation of the corrective actions to solve the customer quality issues
  • Manages internal quality systems (receiving inspection, scrap analysis, gage control, etc.)
  • Manages the overall quality system and ensure retention of our ISO (International Organization for Standardization) certification
  • Sets and leads the quality strategy for the facility
Your background

  • Bachelor's Degree with minimum 8 years experience OR Associate's Degree with minimum 10 years experience OR High School Diploma / GED with minimum 12 years experience.
  • Preferred Experience Includes: Experience as a Quality Engineer within a manufacturing facility and ISO Certifications.
  • The ideal candidate should have at least a basic knowledge of the following principles and should be able to elaborate the concepts: Lean manufacturing, 5S, 8D reports and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).
  • Data analysis/trending experience such as Minitab.
  • Strong quality systems/process experience and ability to work individually or within a team or large groups as required
  • Previous experience in customer support, service or client facing roles and previous knowledge or experience with electrical testing procedures.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
