POSITION SUMMARY

The Electronics & Instrumentation Technician serves as a key member of the Maintenance team, working collaboratively and proactively on maintaining equipment, troubleshooting issues and repair of machinery including mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment throughout the plant.

Liberty Plastics is a leader in the manufacturing of laminate corrugated plastic and products for a variety of industries and customers. This full-time position will report to the Maintenance Manager and is in Baldwyn, Mississippi.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform routine maintenance, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production equipment and machinery.
  • Diagnose problems and replace or repair parts and adjust as necessary.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facilities.
  • Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric and volt meters as well as material handling equipment while in performance of duties.
  • Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Communicates with operators while troubleshooting equipment.
  • Support building, infrastructure, and grounds to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment for all employees.
  • Support with all parts and tool inventories to ensure necessary repairs are completed within minimal equipment downtime.
  • Safely and efficiently troubleshoots and repairs electrical systems including but not limited to: PLC's, VFD drives & motor controls, and instrumentation & controls.
  • Builds, troubleshoots, and repairs logic systems & electrical circuits.
  • Assists with conduit & wire installation, lighting repair, and hydraulic, pneumatic, power transmission & conveyor systems troubleshooting and repair.
  • Performs corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance including calibration, uses data collectors, testing & diagnostic tools during routine and extended outages.
  • Logs and reports issues, and provides feedback for long-term machine use, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Participates in onsite training as required by the company.
  • Assists in developing equipment reliability strategies including spare part stocking, PM optimization, and Predictive Maintenance (PdM).
  • Communicates with operators while troubleshooting equipment.
  • Supports all projects as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • 2 Years Industrial Electrical Tech Degree
  • 2 - 4 Years Industrial Maintenance Experience required; Plastics or Paper industry experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated Strong electrical and instrumentation proficiency with an aptitude for Mechanical.
  • Self-motivated with great follow-up skills and the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Strong decision-making ability, including the ability to anticipate problems, develop contingency plans and act quickly to resolve issues.
  • Ability to communicate with technical specialists and to interpret technical/blueprint drawings and specification documents.
  • Very strong attention to detail/commitment to accuracy
  • Manufacturing process knowledge
