100% - Perform various material control duties:
Read, interpret and work from documents, manuals, drawings, invoices, tool requests, shipping lists, shop orders, kit lists, nomenclature, procedures, manufacturing orders, sketches, procurement requests and requisitions to establish material and supply requirements in support of manufacturing and engineering operations.
Communicate tactfully and effectively with others while working to verbal or written instructions by performing clerical tasks relative to the acquisition, control, receiving, moving, transferring, issuing, storing, disposal of and ship company or customer furnished material and support items in a production control station, stockroom, tool crib, receiving dock and warehouse.
Apply a working knowledge of inventory control systems, record maintenance, filing and statistical reports to set up and operate stockrooms and tool cribs and perform clerical and manual tasks related to kiting, developing shortage lists and inventory control.
Set up and operate a tool crib by applying a knowledge of tool crib procedures and nomenclatures of such items as tooling, tools, jigs, fixtures, hand tools and measuring instruments.
Expedite the physical progress of assigned shortages through manufacturing of other processing departments by moving or arranging for the movement of urgent parts, materials, tools, equipment or assemblies.
Operate material handling equipment, hand tools and power equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, as necessary to receive, move, store and issue material, tooling and tools, company equipment and products, and customer furnished equipment or material.
Perform clerical functions and related manual tasks to receive or ship material, equipment and products.
Operate a stand-alone computer or computer-based equipment to input, maintain and retrieve data records pertinent to the production control of manufactured items and statistics or perform clerical functions in the various operating units of production control.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Computer proficient.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency or other status as a U.S. Person. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Prior forklift experience preferred.
Prior scooter experience preferred.
Banding material handling preferred.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
The work environment may require a combination of indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (i.e. ladders, stair, scaffolding, ramps), balance (maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces), bending, reaching, handling/fingering (seizing, holding, grasping, turning picking, pinching), stooping, kneeling, crouching and ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees may work around variable noise levels. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. May also be required to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer. Ability to distinguish colors may also be necessary. Some employees may be required to drive between various locations within the Company facility or between locations. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
