THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON AWARD AND FUNDING

Job Description:

The Sensors & Advanced Solutions division intends to add the Sea Based X-Band (SBX) Radar Mission Integration (SBX-MI) program to our extensive experience of existing Operations and Maintenance/Sustainment (O&M/S) programs that includes:

  • The COBRA DANE Radar O&M/S program located at Eareckson Air Station Shemya, Alaska.
  • The Hues Air Defense Radar (HADR) Sustainment program that includes two radars located in Taiwan.
  • The Mobile Sensors COBRA KING Radar and Communication O&M/S program located onboard the United States Naval Ship Howard O. Lorenzen operating in the PACOM AOR.
  • The NATO Hues Air Defense Radar Sustainment program that includes seven radars located in six countries.

The SBX-MI program performs Operations & Sustainment (O&S) onboard an advanced radar system mounted on a modified oil-drilling vessel designed for exceptional stability in high winds and storms within the PACOM AOR that supports the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS).

In performance of this mission, Vertex Sensors & Advanced Solutions division is seeking a Satellite Communications Operator & Maintainer (SCO&M). This position will require personnel to live and work for extended shifts/periods onboard the SBX-1 platform within the PCAOM AOR.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring hardware performance and satellite link connectivity
  • Performs pro-active monitoring of network elements alarms and alerts to identify those components/elements that may lead to or already are causing network degradation or failure. Accomplishes this through use of network management system(s) and associated assets on a continuous (rotating shifts) basis.
  • Interfaces with functional users as well as remote operations centers in both routine and reactive monitoring situations. (Network Operations Center)
  • Performing preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Supporting on-board and shore-side engineering analysis
  • Reporting of failures, degradation of services, and maintenance which impact SBX-1 operational readiness and mission support services
  • Provide support for rack drawings and topologies via red-line updates if required because of equipment replacement and/or technology refresh.
  • Monitor In-Flight Data Telecommunications (IDT) shelter conditions, perform housekeeping, corrosion monitoring, and assessments to support shore side analysis.
  • Provide monitoring, reporting and predetermined troubleshooting for
    • BC Communications Node
    • GMD Communications Network (GCN)
    • IFICS Data Terminal

Required Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience working in an Operational Environment supporting military missions.
  • Active SECRET clearance
  • Prior experience performing operations and sustainment on AN/USC-69 SATCOM antennas or other similar SATCOM systems.
  • Experience providing drawing changes and red-lining drawings for updates.
  • Experience deconflicting schedules in a complex operating environment and many different organizations.
  • Excellent written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Ability to effectively manage competing priorities is a must. Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team.
  • Leadership and mentoring experience with proven results.
  • Experience working in a maritime environment.
  • Defense Security CompTIA CertMaster CE Security+ Certification Requirement.

Desired Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field is desired.
  • US Navy's A-Schools for Operations Specialists or the equivalent civilian training.
  • Experience performing in a deployed remote work environment for extended periods of time.

Physical Requirements

  • Must not be hindered by motion sickness and must pass/maintain Maritime Medical Exam IAW CENTCOM Mod 15 requirements
  • Must be able to balance, bend, lift up to 35 pounds, crouch, stretch, and kneel.
  • Must be able to climb up to 10 flights of stairs regularly
  • Cannot be afraid of confined spaces.
  • Cannot be afraid of heights

This position is contingent upon contract award and funding. However, the following initial incentives that will remain confidential are being offered to secure the best qualified applicants with the best experience to the benefit of the Government that commit to the position prior to contract award.

  • $500.00 Signed Commitment Letter Bonus - Following a successful and accelerated selection process for the position that will occur NLT June 2023, we will reserve the position by providing the best qualified applicant a commitment letter and pay that applicant $1K within 45-days. Should the contract not be awarded and/or the selected applicant not be available, there will be no requirement to repay this bonus.
  • $5K Contract Award Bonus - As an additional effort of commitment to this pre-award selected applicant, we will pay a contract award bonus of $5K within 45 days of the candidates start date with our company.
